Lou comes to the Advisory Board with a wealth of industry experience. After graduating from MIT (Minnesota Institute of Toastology), he was the founder of and, after many years as President, the Chief Scientist at Frijo-Lay, the pioneer and global leader in reconsitutable bean products. Not content with the status-quo Lou retired from Frijo-Lay and moved on to become the founder of Food Reconstitution Technologies, Inc. FRT is a leading provider of process control software specifically designed for the reconsitutable foods industry. Recently, he retired from FRT, and now pursues a career as an independent consultant.

Although informally retired, Mr. Brink continues on the boards of Frijo-Lay and FRT as well as Con-Agri-Biz, a multi-level marketing firm specializing in seed and fertilizer. In addition to these roles he is also past-president of the Reconsitutable Food Industry Association (RFIA), and continues as the chairman of its ethics committee. A truly diverse and talented individual, he is author of Reconstituting our Diet, editor of the periodical, Reconstitution Today, and co-editor, along with Tom Porter, of Potential Food: Ethical Challenges Facing the RFI in the 21st Century. He has also contributed many articles to various other industry publications.

When not struggling with issues facing our industry, Lou is pursuing his many interests, which include flower gardening, theology, software engineering, portfolio management, and reactionary politics. He lives with his wife and daughter in Lilburn, Georgia.
